Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Aventa provides self-guided walking audioguides, location-based audio stories and light games you play as you explore a city, through this website and the Aventa mobile app. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and your rights. It is written for the German market and complies with the GDPR (DSGVO).

Short version

Aventa has no user accounts and does not ask for your name or a sign-up. We keep anonymous usage statistics tied to a random identifier, not to your identity. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. If you buy a tour, our payment provider Stripe collects your email address; we use it for your receipt and access code and for occasional tips about similar tours, which you can opt out of at any time.

This website

Purchases and email

If you buy a tour on this website, the payment is handled by our payment provider Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and payment details on its checkout page; we never see your card number. We receive your email address together with the purchase and use it to deliver your receipt and your access code, and to help you recover a purchase.

Because you are then an existing customer, we also use this email address to send you occasional tips about similar Aventa tours (a few emails per year, no third-party advertising). This is based on our legitimate interest in direct marketing to our own customers (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, §7(3) UWG); we tell you about it at checkout. You can object at any time: every such email contains an unsubscribe link, or simply write to support@aventa-go.com. Objecting never affects your purchase or your access to a tour.

The Aventa app

We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, or photo library, and we do not use tracking for advertising.

Service providers

These providers process data on our behalf and may process it outside the EU/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.

How long we keep data

Anonymous usage events and challenge-verification logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and improve the service, then deleted or aggregated. Because there is no account, there is no profile to keep. Purchase records (including the email address used at checkout) are kept for as long as commercial and tax law requires, and your email is removed from our tips list immediately when you object.

Children

Aventa is a general-audience travel product, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. Our legal bases are performing the service you requested (map, navigation, challenges) and our legitimate interest in keeping Aventa working and improving it (anonymous analytics). Because we do not hold identifying information, please contact us with the approximate date and city of your visit so we can locate any device-linked records. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change and, for significant changes, we will note it in the app.
