Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
Aventa provides self-guided walking audioguides, location-based audio stories and light games you play as you explore a city, through this website and the Aventa mobile app. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and your rights. It is written for the German market and complies with the GDPR (DSGVO).

Short version
Aventa has no user accounts and does not ask for your name or a sign-up. We keep anonymous usage statistics tied to a random identifier, not to your identity. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
This website
- Anonymous usage events (e.g. page/tour views, button taps, mini-game progress), app version and platform, tied to a random identifier, to understand which tours and features are used and to fix problems. Stored in our backend (Supabase). No accounts, no names, no advertising trackers.
- Partner enquiries, the partner sign-up forms open your own email client with the details prefilled; anything you send reaches us as an ordinary email.
- Fonts, typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address to deliver them.
The Aventa app
- Precise location (only while the app is open), to show your position on the tour map, guide you between stops, and check you are close enough to complete a location-based challenge. Your coordinates are sent to our server only at the moment you submit a photo challenge, to run the distance check. Location is not tracked in the background.
- Camera photos you take inside a challenge, to verify you photographed the correct landmark/object. The photo is sent to our server and on to an automated vision model (Google Gemini; occasionally Anthropic Claude as a fallback) which returns only a pass/fail verdict; the attempt is logged for debugging. Augmented-reality camera frames stay on your device and are not uploaded.
- “Ask the guide” questions (optional text you type), sent to our server and to Google Gemini to generate an answer.
- Anonymous device identifier + usage events, as above, to understand which tours and features are used and to fix problems.
- Ratings & feedback you choose to submit, stored against the anonymous identifier.
We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, or photo library, and we do not use tracking for advertising.
Service providers
- Supabase, database, storage, and server functions (EU region).
- Google (Gemini API), automated verification of challenge photos and “Ask the guide” answers.
- Anthropic (Claude), occasional fallback for challenge-photo verification only.
- Google Maps and Google Fonts, in-app map display and web typefaces.
- Apple / Google, app distribution.
These providers process data on our behalf and may process it outside the EU/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.
How long we keep data
Anonymous usage events and challenge-verification logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and improve the service, then deleted or aggregated. Because there is no account, there is no profile to keep.
Children
Aventa is a general-audience travel product, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. Our legal bases are performing the service you requested (map, navigation, challenges) and our legitimate interest in keeping Aventa working and improving it (anonymous analytics). Because we do not hold identifying information, please contact us with the approximate date and city of your visit so we can locate any device-linked records. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change and, for significant changes, we will note it in the app.
